Richard Goodacre Brings Construction to Priest & Co

Priest & Co are continuing their rapid growth by introducing new talent to the business with the appointment of Richard Goodacre who will head up the construction team at their Lovat Lane offices.

Richard has been working in the London Market for over 30 years, mainly on construction and construction related risk in the UK and worldwide. Specialising in heavy civil engineering he is probably best known for his tunnelling expertise having been involved with over one hundred such major projects, the latest being the North/South Line in Amsterdam with a contract price of €1,300,000,000.

Starting his career at Alexander Howden and Swan, which at the time was the pre-eminent construction broker in London, Richard has subsequently worked for other major brokers in the sector.

The new Construction Division will work directly with building developers, principals, contractors and government departments. However, they will also work alongside partner insurance brokers for specific projects.

Priest & Co are already well known for their fresh approach to the insurance business and have established business in most areas of commercial and corporate risk. The development of the Construction Division is seen as further proof of the determination of Priest & Co to take a major role in risk management. Operating out of Lovat Lane, a short walk from the Lloyd’s building, Priest are ideally suited to this fast growing and demanding industry.
