A New Duo Joins the Team at Priest & Co

Steve Pope and Glen Johnson have joined Priest & Co as Directors of the International Business division. This is a major step in consolidating Priest’s move into the US market.

Pope gained his experience with Cayzer Steele as a Senior Broker before joining Corrie Bauckham Batts in 1987, where he and Johnson forged a strong partnership, operating within this challenging market.

Johnson who previously also spent 22 years with Corrie Bauckham Batts, specialised in the set-up and implementation of binding authority agreements, particularly in US markets as Binding Authority Technician and later as a Manager. His skills involve definition of procedures, establishment of controls and the set-up & audit of related IT systems.

Drawing on their obvious experience, the International Business team will concentrate on developing relationships in both the US and Europe, focusing on commercial and inland marine risks together with developing markets for niche products.

Like all divisions within Priest & Co, Johnson and Pope will combine high levels of personal service, maintaining regular contact with international agents, including visits as and when required.

Priest & Co are already well known for their fresh approach to the insurance business and they have established business in most areas of commercial risk. The continuing development of the broker services and the introduction of the international division can only strengthen their position. Operating out of Lovat Lane, a short walk from the Lloyd’s building, Priest are ideally suited to this fast growing and demanding industry.
