Priest & Co Motors Ahead

Priest & Co, the City based risk and insurance specialist has widened its business portfolio by acquiring the Motor Fleet Insurance division of Miller Insurance Services Ltd.

The business and the team behind the motor fleet book at Millers will transfer into Priest & Co, based in Lovat Lane, in the City. All business will then be handled from there.

Chris Dunsmore and the motor division team from Millers will move across and continue to handle all existing accounts and develop new business under the banner of Priest & Co. Priest & Co are confident that the transfer will be a straightforward process and once the paperwork and systems are fully in place, both existing and new clients will benefit from the new arrangement. Derek Green has also joined the new Priest & Co motor fleet division from Woodbrook Underwriting Agencies and his accounts have also been transferred across.

This is a major move for Priest & Co and has been in planning for some time. The strength of the new motor division team combined with the highly skilled management team of Priest & Co cannot fail to succeed.

When asked to comment Peter Ellis, Managing Director of Priest & Co said, “The launch of the motor fleet division is just one more step for us in our business development programme. However, this is a significant move as it creates what we believe to be one of the strongest fleet broking arms in the industry”. Chris will be joined from Millers by Peter O’Reilly, Ken Clucas, Tim Bland, Nicola Parrott and Russell Webster, plus Derek Green who moves across from Woodbrook.

The Motor Fleet Division will offer support to the business, private hire, rental fleet markets as well as bus and coach companies, haulage businesses and any other vehicle based operation. Priest & Co can also arrange cover for vehicles transporting hazardous materials or other high risk cargos.

Priest & Co are already well known for their fresh approach to the insurance business and they have established business in most areas of commercial risk. The continuing development of the broker services and the introduction of the motor fleet division can only strengthen their position. Operating from their Lovat Lane premises, which is just a short walk from Lloyd’s, Priest are ideally suited to this fast growing and demanding industry.
